For the largest display of fireworks in the U.S., there’s nothing bigger and more spectacular than Macy’s fireworks.

- The massive fireworks display from several locations (starts at around 9:25 p.m.)
- Music performances by several notable artists, including Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton
Note: There are several locations and restaurants that provide a great vantage point for viewing the fireworks. However, you can also watch a live broadcast of the event on TV if you don’t intend to mingle with the crowd.

Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest @ Coney Island
Although eating contests can be found throughout the year, Nathan’s epic Hot Dog Eating Contest is on another level, having just celebrated its 100th anniversary last year.

- A live competitive snack-down (women’s at 11 a.m. and men’s at 12:30 p.m.)
- Musical and dance performances (starts at 10 a.m.)
Note: Even if you’re not joining as a contestant, there’s nothing more riveting than cheering down the most talented gluttons as they race to eat the most hot dogs in 10 minutes!

You don’t have to get your feet wet in order to enjoy a relaxing cruise down the East River. For more fun, food, and festivities this 4th of July, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
