Get the big picture down clearly at the start. After that, set portions of the goal to achieve during a certain period. If your goal is to lose weight, set a monthly, weekly and even daily goal for yourself to ensure that you’re on track. This also means that we are more likely to stick to them and also feel motivated with each milestone achieved.


Set Realistic Goals

There’s bound to be some hiccups along the way, and it will definitely do you good to prepare for them. In other words, be realistic. Set a backup or alternate plan in case anything doesn’t go the way you foresee. With that, you won’t have to start from square one again and you’ll also progress through your resolutions a lot smoother and faster.


Reward Yourself from Time to Time

Any achievement deserves a reward, so do remember to treat yourself occasionally. Of course, treating yourself does not equal pampering yourself for everything. Set milestones to achieve and the rewards that go along with them. This is a good way to motivate ourselves (especially during harder times).
