With so many different areas covered, there are some incredible activities and events to enjoy.

Great Labor Day Choices

  • Electric Zoo - Held on Randall’s Island, this is an experience like none other. Formally called “Electric Zoo: Transformed”, this music festival will put all others to shame. The event starts on September 4th and compared to prior years, the stages will be larger, the look and feel of the venue energized, and the performances more spectacular. This year, Electric Zoo celebrates its 7th season complete with popular headliners like Alesso and The Chemical Brothers. If you appreciate electro-music, you do not want to miss this three-day event.

  • West Side County Fair – No Labor Day would be complete without going to at least one fair. Located in Riverside Park, this fair will occur on September 5th, going from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. Along with carnival games, sideshow performers, and rides, you can listen to various live bands and dine on local cuisine.

  • Great River Tugboat Race – This Labor Day will be the 23rd year for this event. If you are looking for something unique this year, the races on Hudson River are perfect. The race is scheduled for September 6th and begins with the Circle Line Spectator Boat followed by a parade of other boats. If wanted, you can sign up to compete in the amateur line toss competition or try your hand in the spinach eating contest.

  • Prospect Park – You can also spend your Labor Day celebrating at Prospect Park. Children will be treated to various carnival rides and there will be contests for identifying birds, puzzles, card games, Bingo, nature trail walks, potato sack races, and much more for a day of pure enjoyment.
