It might be a little colder than usual this Christmas, but there’s still tons of fun activities waiting for you at some of New York’s finest Christmas lights displays. Just remember to dress appropriately (and by that, we mean ‘warm’) and you’ll turn out alright. The magic of the season is truly embodied in the millions of twinkling lights all around the city, and we’ve got the details you need to start planning your evenings right down below:
Dyker Heights Christmas Lights
If you haven’t yet made your way over to watch the fantastic display of Dyker Heights Christmas Lights, you’ll best head on over this year. Sure, their lights might not run into the millions like some other displays, but there’s still a lot you can achieve with tens of thousands of them. Their over-the-top creations are simply stunning (after all, it’s one of Brooklyn’s more popular attractions) and it’s not an overstatement to say that you can easily spend several hours wandering around.

Rockefeller Center
You might consider it a tourist trap, but you’ll have to admit it’s a beautiful one at that. Come on over and enjoy the giant Norway Spruce spruced up with thousands of LED lights. Of course, the tree has already been lit, but there’s still plenty of reason to drop by. If nothing else, the sheer magnitude of this lighted tree is bound to make a good photo backdrop. Also, did you know that the tree itself will be donated to Habitat for Humanity once the season is over?
Venue: Rockefeller Center, 45 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10111
Time & Date: 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. (28 Nov 2018 - 7 Jan, 2019)

Central Park Holiday Lighting
The amount of electricity used to power the city’s holiday lights is simply staggering, but it’s also one of the reasons why it looks beautiful, and this year is no exception as well. The Charles A. Dana Center has been the recipient of holiday lights for more than 20 years. Here, you can enjoy carolling with the Mistletones, an ice carving session with Okamoto Studios, and so much more.
Venue: Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, Central Park N, New York, NY 10029
Time & Date: Do Check the Website for Specific Times (29 Nov 2018 throughout the Holiday Season)
